Does a gardener snake have a brown stripe on its back???

Does a gardener snake have a brownish yellowish stripe on the back??? I was wondering because it looked like it was all brown and they live under our house: we have 3 dogs , a kitten, and 3 rabbits out side I dont like the fact that there is snakes by our house and only the rabbits live outside but the dogs run out side and I hope I get an anwser soon

It could have been a garter (not gardener) snake -- check here for some great pictures so you can be more sure.

If it is, garter snakes do have venom but it's very mild and non-toxic. Also, they have small teeth that rarely break the skin. Unless you have an unusually large garter snake, your animals are probably fine. (But I'd be careful if you have baby rabbits that a snake could get at -- newborn bunnies are pretty tiny.)
