To get oil paint out of carpet, first blot up as much oil paint as possible using paper towel.  Once that is done, use a little paint thinner or turpentine with white cloth to blot the rest of the paint out. Try to keep using cloth not used before so you can see how much paint has been removed.  Then use a carpet cleaner to clean the area.  Once the area dries, use a vacuum. The oil paint should have been considerably removed.
