Your questions of 401K plan you went into must be referred to the investment corporation that was investing your monies. You should have been receiving yearly statements advising you of the ups and down of your monies. You must have payroll stubs or investment portfolios of where you put your money. That money should be held for you and if you signed into the 401k outside of work or as an employer benefit, the money has been deposited in a bank for you because the 401K group cannot give it to anyone else.
