Oatmeal can be taken on a gluten free diet only if they are specifically labelled as gluten free because oats can be contaminated with wheat during growing and processing stages of production which contains gluten. And presence on gluten causes inflammation in the small intestines of people with celiac disease.

Gluten free diet is a diet which excludes the protein gluten and is used to treat celiac disease. So eating a gluten-free diet helps people with celiac disease control their signs and symptoms and prevent the complications.
