How do i get rid of muscle pain?

I learned how to do the splits and so everyday i would stretch and do the splits. But one day i had a really sore muscle pain in the squat areas and until now it has not gone away. It hurts so much that it has stopped me doing the splits. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Some ways to reduce your muscle pain are: Foam rolling, Increase protein, take Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve the pain if required, have Ice bath, Do more exercise.
