Breakthrough bleeding?!

"I have been on birth control for atleast a year now and have missed my period before by just continuing the pills. A week ago i did the same not having done it for a while and today, a week later, i am suddenly bleeding?! Whats going on? I have to leave for a trip soon and i want it to stop!

Birth control pills are taken regularly, on schedule. It is not unusual for "breakthrough bleeding" to occur. The possibility is explained in the instructions accompanying the pills of bleeding. Get a magnifying glass to read the info if you have to. This is future reference material and not junk mail. It is a matter of asking yourself if it is better to know you are or are not pregnant you should focus on. Know also that stress may add to the body counteracting the pills.
