Would slowing of earth core effect global climate?

+1 vote
It has been proven the earth core spins at variable speed - 750 to 1400 years for one spin. Could this fluctuation effect the global temperature as the spin is responsible for the magnet field and the magnet field is responsible for deflecting harfull rays from the sun.
