According to the Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District website: "The district’s STAR test results regularly exceed those of the county of San Bernardino and, in many instances, those of the state as well."

Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) is a test that students in grades 2-11 take every year. There are four parts -- the California Standards Tests, the California Modified Assessment, the California Alternate Performance Assessment, and the Standards-based Tests in Spanish.

The 2010-11 results for the California Standards Test portion of STAR for the entire Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified District were:

English-Language Arts (Grades 2-11)
Proficient or Advanced: 55.7%
All of San Bernadino County: 49.5%
All of California: 54.4%

History (Grades 8 and 11, and end-of-course)
Proficient or Advanced: 51%
All of San Bernadino County: 40.5%
All of California: 47.7%

Mathematics (Grades 2-7, and end-of-course)
Proficient or Advanced: 48.7%
All of San Bernadino County: 45.4%
All of California: 50.4%

Science CST (Grades 5, 8, and 10)
Proficient or Advanced: 64.7%
All of San Bernadino County: 51.7%
All of California: 57%

Science (end-of-course)
Proficient or Advanced: 48.2%
All of San Bernadino County: 36.1%
All of California: 42.6%
