Almost hypothetically speaking, it is focused on rightful ownership and expected value of something to someone as recognized by law. Forfeiture is included as reason this explanation is requested from Forum. An example is a vehicle in someone's name. The owner has disappeared for awhile now and the person it was to be held by until they returned wants the vehicle to keep or sell with the law's approval. A notice is circulated the owner loses the car if they fail to return in 30 days. The owner will forfeit the car if it is a no show.
