Hello Anonymous,

I asked a representative of Chobani this question and was told that the Gili cherry is related to the Napoleon [also known as Royal Ann] cherry. It was chosen specifically for its flavor and sweetness. This is as much as I have been able to find out about this particular cultivar. Information about it on the Web is scarce, if it exists at all.
