The notice period may generally vary depending upon the contract and the percentage agreed upon. If there is no contract in place, the landlord should give atleast 30 to 60 days notice before raising the rent.

In rental leases, the lease indicates how much notice the renter must give of intent to terminate the rental leasing of a residence. If the lease is for one year, count back to when the lease is terminated. This is the same amount of time the manager or owner must give a renter of intent to raise rent (because a new lease must be signed or the renter must move).
