whats the difference between cornet and trumpet ?.

Unlike the trumpet, which has a cylindrical bore up until the bell section, the tubing of the cornet has a mostly conical bore, starting very narrow at themouthpiece and gradually widening towards the bell. Aside from what is mentioned above, physical differences between the two instruments are hard to define, unless you can come across a trumpet most exclusively used in brass marching bands that has an Eb tuning instead of the standard Bb tuning for both instruments.
