our alternator will be shot, and prob. most of it's wiring. anything else which has transistors or diodes which was turned on will be suspect, with it's wiring. No damage to starter motor or wipers is likely, the coil will be ok, the capacitors for the sparks and noise filtering are suspect, any electronic device is likely to be gone. Lights are unaffected, fuses may be damaged by the extreme currents, not the polarity. Every componet which proves damaged will have to have it's wiring fully checked for shorts-perhaps a big job, it may pay to get another loom outright-and amateur can do it, but there are tricks, like the regulator in the back of the fuel/temp guages will be blown, and they are always overpriced.
