If your bankruptcy was dismissed without prejudice, you have a chance to file it again immediately by making required changes to your paperwork and you can also apply for an extension for a stay in the new bankruptcy.  If your bankruptcy was dismissed with prejudice, you cannot file it again for a specified amount of time or you cannot get rid of the debts that you could have gotten out of when you file for the next one.
