in Victoria Australia,, do restaurants have to provide toilets for customers?

+4 votes
I work for a well known restaurant company in Victoria, Australia, we seat 26 people inside and 36 outside. the restaurant DOES NOT have its own toilet facilities for customers or staff instead we had to use public toilets that formed part of a shopping centre 15meters away. These toilets have now been closed down for demolition works and the next closest public toilets are about 250 - 275 meters away inside the actual shopping centre.

Customers are complaining that we are ment to provide them access to toilet faclities by law!! can someone confirm if this is true??

Yes toilets need to be provided in any restaurant. I guess you need to putforth this about the customer complaints in front of the management.
