Is there a law in California that makes it possible to cancel serrvice contract?

Yesterday my son bought new 2014 Prius Toyota from Toyota dealership in San Diego. He is not experienced customer, so the

salesman made him purchase an optional service contract (for about $2500).

Later my son came to conclusion that he does not need that service contract for his nice new car.

So, my question is, can my son cancel that service contract and get his money back?

Is there a law in California that makes it possible? If so, where can I see that law?
